You’ve collected the four Flowflowers to help cleanse the Zendruu Tree in Palia’s Elderwood. The time has come to try the ritual to see if the tree can be saved.
Join Tamala, Subira, and Ulfe in the final task to cleanse the Zendruu Tree. Find out if the ritual is legitimate, and if the Elderwood can be saved from the Echo.
Prerequisites For The ‘Even As A Dream’ Quest
The ‘Even As A Dream‘ quest is part of a long quest chain within the Elderwood, and is also part of the Main Story quest. Once you get the first quest, the rest should be given automatically to you.
You can check the current quest you’re on by viewing the Main Story tab in the ‘Quests’ menu. These quests will appear in the section labeled ‘Main’. Here are the quests, in order, that you should already have completed:
- Have access to the Elderwood.
- Complete the main story quests through ‘Something Wicked‘.
- Complete ‘Even As A Shadow‘ quest.
- Complete the ‘Do Not Go Gentle‘ quest.
- Complete ‘All That Is Not Gold‘ quest.
- Complete ‘The Road Not Taken‘ quest.
- Complete the ‘A Thousand Slimy Things‘ quest.
How To Get The ‘Even As A Dream’ Quest In Palia
Once you’ve completed the prerequisites, you’ll receive the ‘Even As A Dream’ quest upon completing ‘A Thousand Slimy Things’. You will get it automatically, so there’s nothing special to do.
The ‘Even As A Dream’ quest will appear under the ‘Main’ category of the ‘Main Story’ quests in the menu. You’ll be able to check there to make sure you have the quest, and to check on quest objectives.
Meet Tamala At The Zendruu Tree
If you are in a different area, and need to get back to the Zendruu Tree, travel to the Elderwood Central Stables. Walk through the Echo Wall and follow the main hallway tunnel until you get to the Zendruu Tree.
Talk to Tamala once you arrive at the Zendruu Tree. She’ll tell you a bit about the ritual to cleanse the tree.
In-game Translated Ritual Hint
A burn to cleanse the haze,
A breeze to grow the flame,
Rain to douse the blaze,
Now the soil we reclaim.
You’ll need to take the Flowflowers from the plant pots and place them at the base of the Zendruu Tree. Once you have all the flowers arranged, interact with the pedestal near the base of the tree to check whether your guess is correct or not.
Flowflower Puzzle Answer
From left to right the flowers should be placed as follows:
- Orange fire Flowflower on the far left.
- Yellow air Flowflower next to the fire one.
- Blue water Flowflower next to the yellow air one.
- Green earth Flowflower next to the blue one (far right).
Talk to Tamala after you’ve successfully solved the Flowflower puzzle. Once the ritual is done, talk to Tamala again. This will complete the quest.
The continuation of this should arrive with the Royal Highlands expansion arriving tentatively on May 12, 2026. Subira does say she will let you know when she’s ready to travel to the Royal Highlands. You may receive a visitor at your housing plot, or in-game mail.
