You’ve searched the Royal Highlands in Palia for the 4 Relics needed to appease the Galdur Administrator. You’re now hunting for the third Relic, while trying to avoid entanglements with the Beast.
Spend more time with Eshelon while you work on obtaining the third Relic. Be prepared for more hunting and puzzle-solving.
Prerequisites For The ‘Chasing Perfection’ Quest
Before you can obtain the ‘Chasing Perfection’ quest, you’ll need to do the following in Palia first:
- Complete the regular main storyline through ‘Answering The Call‘.
- Complete the Elderwood main storyline through ‘Even As A Dream‘.
- Complete ‘A Royal Welcome‘ quest.
- Complete ‘Administrative Access‘ quest.
- Complete ‘A Stitch In Time‘ quest.
- Complete ‘Somewhere That’s Green‘ quest.
How To Get The ‘Chasing Perfection’ Quest In Palia
To get the ‘Chasing Perfection’ quest in Palia, make sure you complete all prerequisites. Upon completion of the ‘Somewhere That’s Green‘ quest, you’ll automatically get the ‘Chasing Perfection’ quest.
If you’re not sure if you’ve received the quest, you can check the main menu ‘Quests’ section. If it’s an active quest, it will appear in the ‘Main Story‘ tab under the ‘Main‘ category heading.
Find Eshelon At The Formae Amphitheatre
To find the third Relic, you’ll need to meet with Eshelon at the Formae Amphitheatre near the Steps of Renova. The location will be marked on the map, and you’ll have a navigation bar quest marker at the top of your screen to follow as well.
There are no stairs to lead you to the platform where Eshelon is standing. You’ll need to use your glider from some higher terrain or ruins to reach the platform.
You should be able to reach it by standing on one of the higher sets of stairs near the platform and gliding over. Talk to Eshelon once you reach him.
Search the marked zone for an alternate entrance to Halward’s lab. There should be some papers posted that you can interact with in the area for possible clues.
Halward’s Alternate Lab Entrance Answer
The entrance is northwest of the platform, beneath a sort of stone awning held up by pillars. It’s on the second level of the amphitheatre.
Once you’ve found the alternate entrance, a short discussion will automatically begin. Eshelon will then move to your location.
You’ll need to search the area again for a way to unlock the door. Interacting with the door will produce a clue to the key’s location.
Halward’s Lab Key Location Answer
You’ll need to find a purple button in the ruin’s walls. It is roughly east of the central platform, near a birch tree.
There will be a climbing grate, such as the ones in the temple, jutting out of the water. You’ll be able to jump across to the grate.
Talk to Eshelon when you enter Halward’s lab. Solve the sliding puzzle to open the vault door.
There’s a scroll to read in the lobby area of the lab. Once you enter the vault, you’ll have 2 blue books to read on the table inside the vault room.
Hunt a Hydroflow creature with a blue mark above its head. You can find them near areas with water. You’ll probably need to travel along the river to find suitable creatures.
When you’ve obtained a Hydroflow Mask you can return to Halward’s vault. Interact with the pedestal beneath the Phoenix statue to unlock the vault and obtain the Relic.
Talk to Eshelon about the Relic. You’ll need to collect the following to charge its power:
- 100 Amber Echo
- 5 Royal Highlands Fish
You should be able to catch fish right in the water at the amphitheatre. Once you’ve collected everything, return to Halward’s vault.
Talk to Eshelon once you return to the vault. You’ll receive Halward’s ring as a Relic.
The ring will improve the use of your tools. If you’d like to equip it, you can visit the inventory menu ‘Accessories’ section.
The Relic slot looks similar to a pendant. If there is nothing equipped in it, you can interact with it to see all available Relics.
If you already have something equipped, you’ll need to remove it before you can see your Relics and equip a different one.
The conversation with Eshelon will end the current quest. You’ll automatically receive the next one, ‘Cat’s In The Cradle‘.
