Disney Dreamlight Valley Quest Guide: The Family Recipe

You’ve set things right in Storybook Vale, but Aurora feels like it would be good to have a celebration to lift everybody’s spirits. She needs a little help with tasks she delegated.

Talk with villagers to find out how their tasks are coming along. Lend a helping hand in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and try to prevent any catastrophes along the way.

Prerequisites For ‘The Family Recipe’ Quest

To unlock ‘The Family Recipe’ quest, you’ll need to do the following things first:

You can check the status of the quest in the main menu ‘Quests’ section. The quest will appear with an Aurora icon.

How To Get ‘The Family Recipe’ Quest

Once all the prerequisites have been met, talk to Aurora to get ‘The Family Recipe’ quest. You’ll need to enter Merida’s house to check on her.

Listen to Merida and Flynn’s discussion once you enter the house. Talk to Flynn once he has a quest marker above his head.

Gather the following materials for the banners:

  • 10 Petrified Wood
  • 10 Marble
  • 10 Posidonia

Once you have collected the necessary materials return to Merida’s house to see how Merida and Flynn are doing. Listen to Flynn and Merida’s conversation.

Talk to Flynn once he has a quest marker above his head to find out if they have made any progress on the choice of banner color. Visit any Crafting Station in the valley.

Interact with the Crafting Station to craft 5 Fairy Cake Celebration Banners. You’ll find the proper banners on the ‘Furniture’ tab of the Crafting Recipes.

The proper number of banners will automatically be selected for you, so you don’t need to change the quantities. Use the ‘Furniture’ mode from your inventory to place the banners anywhere in the valley.

You should see an Aurora shortcut icon in the decorating menu. Select it to quickly access the banners.

After the banners are placed, talk to Aurora. Gather ingredients for Aurora’s cake:

  • 12 Shovel Bird Eggs
  • 5 Porcini Mushrooms
  • 5 Lightning Spice

You’ll need to have these ingredients in your inventory to progress with the quest. Once you have them, visit Aurora’s house.

Talk to Aurora once you’ve entered her house. Talk to Flynn to see if the seating arrangements are done.

Talk to Aurora and gather 9 Spiral Strawberries with her. She’ll automatically be hanging out with you for this portion of the quest.

Talk to Aurora once you’ve gathered all the strawberries. While Aurora rests, talk to Flynn.

Go to Flynn’s house to check on the cake. Talk to Aurora about the situation.

Talk to Remy about how to fix the cake. Gather the following ingredients for the new cake:

  • 1 Milk
  • 1 Elysian Grain
  • 1 Spiral Strawberry
  • 1 Faerie Rye
  • 1 Cake Yeast (Remy will automatically give this)
  • 1 Coal (For the cooking process)

When you have all the ingredients, visit any Cooking Station. You won’t need to have the ingredients in your inventory for this recipe.

Interact with a Cooking Station to cook the ‘Aurora’s Improved Cake’. The cake should appear at the top of the cooking recipes, with a quest marker icon.

Talk to Aurora to give her the improved cake. From your inventory, enter ‘Furniture’ mode and use the Aurora shortcut icon at the top to access the cake.

Place the cake somewhere in the Storybook Vale. Take a picture of the celebration with the in-game camera feature.

Listen to the conversation between Aurora and Flynn. Talk to Aurora afterward. This will complete the quest.
