You’ve finally found Aurora after quite a bit of work, and learned the truth behind the Neverafter. Now, it’s time to make sure your story doesn’t get erased.
Pursue the Lorekeeper and try to stop the encroaching Neverafter. Remind the Lorekeeper about the real truths of stories and why they matter.
Prerequisites For ‘The Tales That Bind’

To get ‘The Tales That Bind’ quest, you’ll need to do the following:
- Have the Storybook Vale expansion.
- Complete ‘The Missing Princess‘ quest.
- Complete ‘A Hero of Ink and Paper‘ quest.
- Complete ‘The Ink-Stained World‘ quest.
You will automatically receive this quest at the end of ‘The Ink-Stained World’ quest, and be transported to the proper location. You should find yourself back in the Unwritten Realms.
You can check the status of the quest in the main menu, under the ‘Quests’ section.
Talk To Aurora

To get ‘The Tales That Bind’ started, you’ll need to talk to Aurora. She should already be waiting for you in the Unwritten Realms.
You’ll then need to explore more of the Unwritten Realms. You’ll have to enter the portal to find the Lorekeeper.
The stairway will lead to a setting resembling a living room with a fireplace. Talk to the Lorekeeper, then catch the snippets she leaves behind with the Royal Net.
Talk to Aurora once you’ve captured all 3 snippets. Enter the new portal that the Lorekeeper used during her escape.
Follow the path to another scene and talk to the Lorekeeper again. Catch 3 more snippets, then follow the Lorekeeper into the next portal.
Talk to the Lorekeeper when you arrive at the next scene. You’ll only have 2 snippets to catch this time. Follow the Lorekeeper through the next portal.
Talk to the Lorekeeper again. You’ll then need to reorder ‘The Story of Dreamlight Valley’. The reordering interface will automatically open, and the story to reorder will have a special quest mark in the upper left-hand corner.
Completed Puzzle Picture With Gold Piece Outlines Visible

Once the story is successfully reordered, you’ll be transported back through the tapestry to Storybook Vale. Talk to the Lorekeeper once you’re back.
This completes both ‘The Tales That Bind‘ quest, and the Storybook Vale storyline. You’ll get credits, though if you want to skip them you may be able to use the “back” option.
Once the credits have played, you’ll need to talk to the Lorekeeper again. Next, place Aurora’s house somewhere in Storybook Vale. Talk to Princess Aurora to welcome her. This will complete ‘The Tales That Bind‘.
