With all the mysterious occurrences happening on Eternity Isle, Disney Dreamlight Valley could use some help. Jafar may not be trustworthy, but he may be the only one who can help.
Work with Jafar to try and stabilize the flattening issue happening on Eternity Isle. Will he truly help, or will he trick you in the end?
Prerequisites For ‘The Optics Of A Second Chance’ Quest
Before you can obtain ‘The Optics Of A Second Chance’ quest, you’ll need to do the following first:
- Have the Rift In Time expansion.
- Have the main storyline completed.
- Unlock Jafar.
- Progress with EVE.
- Have Jafar at friendship level 2 or higher.
- There is also a hidden requirement that must be met.
You can check on the status of the quest any time in the main menu ‘Quests’ section. The quest will appear with a Jafar icon.
How To Get ‘The Optics Of A Second Chance’
Once the prerequisites have been met, talk to Jafar to get ‘The Optics Of A Second Chance’ quest. Jafar needs your help to obtain items from the Cave of Wonders.
Collect the following items from the Cave of Wonders:
- 1 Polished Mirror
- 2 Photonic Lever
Collect 3 Power Cables from EVE’s house. You’ll need to remove a junk pile in order to collect the Power Cables.
Talk to Jafar to give him the supplies you collected. Collect the following gems:
- 1 Jade
- 1 Spinel
- 1 Bumblestone
- 1 Alexandrite
- 1 Evergem
You don’t need to have the gems in your inventory, it’s fine if you have them in your storage. Once you have collected all the gems, visit a Crafting Station.
Interact with the Crafting Station to craft the Dimensional Prism Jafar needs. You’ll find the recipe for it on the ‘Functional Items’ tab of the Crafting Recipes.
Go to Jafar’s lab in the Palace. You can use either the main Palace entrance or the “secret” entrance to get to the lab.
From the front entrance of the Palace, follow the red carpet and take the staircase on the left to get to the lab. You may need to activate hourglasses to set the room to it’s repaired condition.
Once you meet with Jafar, talk to him for the next steps. You’ll need to plug in the 3 Power Cables from the Power Coil to the door.
Open the Experiment Chamber using the door lever. This will be the lever at the red and black door connected to the cabling.
Interact with the gear-shaped stands on the ground and place the following items inside the Experiment Chamber:
- Geometrically Impaired Cactus
- Geometrically Impaired Statue
- Geometrically Impaired Tree
They should automatically be in your inventory. Jafar will give them to you during one of your conversations.
Exit the Experiment Chamber and interact with the pedestal just outside the entrance to the chamber. Place the Dimensional Prism on the pedestal.
Interact with the lever at the door to the chamber to close the door. Interact with the lever near the mirror.
Open the door to the Experiment Chamber using the lever near the door. Gather the items you placed in the chamber previously.
Leave the lab and place the stabilized items in their proper biomes. Use the ‘Furniture’ mode from your inventory to access the items.
You should see a Jafar shortcut icon that will allow you to quickly access the quest items. Place the items in the following biomes:
- Geometrically Stabilized Cactus (Desert)
- Geometrically Stabilized Statue (Ancient Landing)
- Geometrically Stabilized Tree (The Wild Tangle)
Talk to Jafar about the results of placing the items. This will complete the quest.
