The Disney Dreamlight Valley (DDV) game is frequently adding more content, and more characters. There’s always something to keep you busy in the valley.
Beast has a little favor he needs from you this time, and when he asks for help, we know it’s important. He struggles to reach out, so now’s the time to have his back.

Prerequisites For ‘The Haunting Of The Beast’s Castle’ Quest
To get ‘The Haunting Of The Beast’s Castle’ quest, you’ll need to do the following first:
- Welcome Belle to the valley.
- Welcome Beast to the valley.
- Make sure your game is updated to the latest version.
You can check the status of this quest any time in the main menu ‘Quests’ section.
Check Your In-Game Mail
While the Beast may struggle to control his temperamental outbursts at times, he’s still a bit hesitant around people. You’ll need to check your in-game mail to see what’s worrying him.
It’s been a while and he hasn’t heard from Cogsworth or Lumiere since he left the castle. He wants you to go back to the castle and check up on his friends.
Make sure to claim the White Rose Petals in his letter. You should automatically receive ‘The Haunting Of The Beast’s Castle‘ quest.
When you return to Beast’s castle, it seems a bit more dark and mysterious than the first time you visited. You’ll need to find a servant if you want to learn what’s happening in the castle.
| Some areas of the castle will be restricted by darkness and fog. If you get stuck trying to explore any areas, such as permanently walking in place, you may need to close out of the game and restart. |
Follow the red-carpeted hall all the way to the library. You should find Lumiere there, with a quest marker above his head.
Talk to Lumiere. Check the hidden passage that’s open in the library for materials to make a special fireplace fuel.
You’ll need to find:
- 3 Castle Canola
- 1 Castle Paper
- 1 Castle Softwood
You’ll need to have 3 empty pocket spaces for the items. They can all be found in a chest in the hidden passage.
| If you need more pocket space, you may be able to equip a couple companions to increase your inventory space. Otherwise you’ll have to come back to this part once you’ve got room in your inventory. |
There’s a little cooking station near the chest in the hidden passage. Interact with it to make the Fireplace Fuel. The recipe should have a quest marker and appear at the top of the recipe list.
Bring everything to Lumiere and talk to him to give him the materials. Talk to Lumiere again to find out more about what’s been happening in the castle.
After you learn more about the mysterious happenings in the castle from Lumiere, you’ll need to catch a flying painting. It should manifest right in the library.
Get close enough to the painting and interact with it to catch it. Head to the grand piano to see if you can hang the painting up on one of the walls near the piano.
There should be a special spot marked with swirling petals. You can interact with the spot to hang the painting.
You’ll need to pick up two items after hanging the painting:
- Enigmatic Box
- Domestic Manual Page 1
The items should appear near the red-carpeted walkway by the piano. Return to Lumiere and tell him your discovery.
You’ll then have an option to tell Lumiere whether you believe in ghosts or not. You’ll be notified that your answer will effect your remaining time in the castle, so consider carefully before answering.
Follow Lumiere to the garden, and talk to him for further instructions. There are statues on pillars blocking your way into the garden.
Use your Royal Pickaxe to remove the statues. Find you way through the maze to the garden’s center to check on the sounds you heard.
You’ll need to remove obstacles and night thorns to reach the garden’s center. Talk to Cogsworth when you’ve removed the obstacles.
Follow Cogsworth back to Lumiere, then talk to Lumiere. This will complete ‘The Haunting Of The Beast’s Castle’ quest, and give you a quest called, ‘A Growing Mystery‘.
