The town of Moonlight Peaks has its share of troubles. From feuding families to natural, or perhaps unnatural, storms.
Samael is missing people who used to visit town, before one of the heavy storms. He’s heard about your discovery of Luna Bay, and needs your help.
Prerequisites For ‘The Mysterious Bay’ Quest
To get ‘The Mysterious Bay’ quest in Moonlight Peaks, you should do the following:
- Complete the ‘Mend It With Magic‘ quest.
- Complete the ‘A Touch Of Magic‘ quest.
- Complete the ‘A Curious Passage‘ quest.
- Enter town after a few days when Samael is near the bridge at Howling Hammer. (It was a day with precipitation, but weather most likely won’t matter.)
You can check the status of the quest in the ‘Quest Log’ section of the menu. It will update as you complete objectives.
Talk To Samael
Once you’ve completed the prerequisites, you’ll receive a cutscene when you enter town. Samael will reveal that he used to meet someone at that spot by the bridge.
He has a letter meant for Kim Hosu. Only you have the ability to enter Luna Bay to deliver the letter.
He doesn’t think Kim wants to talk to him, but he still wants to reach out to her. He’ll give you the letter to deliver in his stead.
Visit the Howling Marshes and use your Hellkitten form to enter the Luna Bay area. You’ll get another cutscene and will hand over the letter from Samael.
Kim would like to talk to Samael, but she can’t even visit him. Talk to the witches in town about how to move the tree blocking the waterfall.
You can discuss the issue with the following townsfolk:
- Sabrina
- Noel
- Luna
- Fiona
You’ll receive some help from the witches, in the form of advice. You’ll need to buy another spell from Webb of Wonders if you don’t already have it.
Purchase the Arborascend I spell for 1,200 coins. Take the path that leads north near Fiona’s house.
You’ll see a broken tree stump, and the remaining tree is lying across the river. Stand near the stump and cast the Arborascend I spell.
A cutscene should begin if you are in the right area. The spell will use 2 Mana Essences, even though there’s a cutscene.
The tree will be moved and Kim will appear. She tells you that she wants to think of the perfect way to thank you, but she’s eager to talk to Samael and disappears. The quest completes after the scene.
