Everybody needs a friend in Disney Dreamlight Valley, even the more unsavory characters. Maleficent is in need of your assistance to find her Raven companion.
Work with Maleficent to find a way back to the Unwritten Realms. You may need a little more magical help from the Lorekeeper as well.

Prerequisites For ‘The Corvid Companion’ Quest
To unlock ‘The Corvid Companion’ Quest, you’ll need to do the following:
- Have the Storybook Vale expansion.
- Unlock the Beanstalk Marshes biome.
- Complete ‘The Unwritten Realms: Maleficent’s Gift‘ quest.
- Have Maleficent at friendship level 2 or higher.
How To Get ‘The Corvid Companion’ Quest
To get ‘The Corvid Companion’ quest, make sure the prerequisites have been done. Talk to Maleficent to officially obtain the quest.
You can check on that status of the quest by visiting the main menu ‘Quests’ section. It will appear with a Maleficent icon.
Find Maleficent’s Raven
After you talk to Maleficent to get this quest, you’ll learn that her corvid companion is trapped in the Unwritten Realms. She’d like your help to get her Raven pet back.
You’ll need to cook the Raven’s favorite meal, Chimera Skewers, to entice it to come back. Gather the following ingredients and materials:
- 1 Hippocampus
- 1 Flying Fish
- 1 Trumpet Snail
- 1 Brussels Sprout
- 1 Stygian Mudskipper
- 1 Coal Ore
Once you have the ingredients, visit any Cooking Station in the valley. Interact with a Cooking Station to cook the Chimera Skewers. Maleficent should have automatically given you the recipe.
The recipe will be marked with a quest icon and should appear at the top of the recipe list for convenience. After cooking the meal, talk to the Lorekeeper.
You’ll need to solve the new floor puzzle to safely re-enter the Unwritten Realms. When you solve the puzzle, a large book will appear.
Enter the book and find a Magic Quill to ask about Maleficent’s Raven. The Magic Quill will open the gate by the reception desk for you to search adjoining areas.
You should be able to dig one up with your Royal Shovel. You’ll need to continue along the path and down a side staircase to get the key behind inkies.
Remove the inkies and then return to the main path and continue. Interact with the filing cabinet in the next area to access the last key.

Once you have obtained all 3 keys, you’ll need to find a gate with 3 locks. You’ll need to return to the first room where you dug up the key.
Interact with the gate to use all 3 keys. Open the green treasure chest and collect the Drawbridge Lever.
Return to the Waiting Room. You’ll see raven feathers strewn on the ground near the gate you need.
Interact with the pedestal next to the drawbridge to fix the lever. Interact with the pedestal again to lower the drawbridge.
Maleficent’s Raven is locked in a cage. You’ll need to search the area and remove obstacles with your Royal Pickaxe and Royal Watering Can to get the key to the cage.
You’ll also need to find a pedestal with a wheel. Use your Royal Net on the pedestal to lower the Raven’s cage.
Interact with the cage to use the key you found. Talk to the Raven to give it the Chimera Skewers you made.
Return to Storybook Vale and talk to Maleficent. The Raven needs a perch to rest upon. Gather the following materials:
- 15 Petrified Wood
- 10 Marble
- 15 Mud
- 5 Sea Monster Teeth
Visit any Crafting Station in Storybook Vale or the valley once you’ve collected the materials. They can be accessed from storage, so they won’t need to be in your inventory.
You can use the Maleficent shortcut icon to quickly access the quest crafting recipe. Craft 1 Luxury Corvid Perch.
Use the ‘Furniture’ mode from your inventory to place the Luxury Corvid Perch in Everafter near Maleficent’s Castle.
You can use the Maleficent icon from the ‘Furniture’ mode to quickly access the perch. Once you’ve placed it near her castle, talk to Maleficent. This will complete the quest.
