Dreamlight Valley may be one of the most harmonious places around, but not every villager finds it easy to adapt. Cogsworth may be having a bit of difficulty relaxing.
Help Cogsworth with his concerns and ideas in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Perhaps you’ll be able to help Cosgworth find a bit of peace and calm.
Prerequisites For The ‘Running Like Clockwork’ Quest

To get the ‘Running Like Clockwork’ quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you’ll need to do the following:
- Unlock the following characters:
- Vanellope
- Moana
- Stitch
- Progress with Anna.
- Unlock the Forest of Valor.
- Unlock Dazzle Beach.
- Have Cogsworth at friendship level 2 or higher.
You can check the status of the quest once you obtain it in the main menu. Select the ‘Quests’ section in the menu and you’ll need to search for Cogsworth’s icon for quest information.
Talk To Cogsworth

When all the prerequisites are met, you can talk to Cogsworth to obtain the ‘Running Like Clockwork’ quest. He has a few issues he’d like to discuss about the valley.
Cogsworth has deemed that Vanellope’s house is a valley eyesore. He wants you to hide it behind special green Harmonious Screens.
Gather the following materials to make the Harmonious Screens:
- 25 Hardwood
- 10 Green Passion Lilies
Visit any crafting station and interact with it to make the Harmonious Screens. You’ll find the crafting recipe for them on the ‘Furniture’ tab of the crafting interface.
When you select the crafting recipe, it will already automatically set the amount to craft at 6. There is no need to change the quantity, unless you want extras.
Place the 6 Harmonious Screens by accessing your inventory, and then entering the ‘Furniture’ mode. You’ll see a Cogsworth icon at the top of the ‘Furniture’ mode menu.
You can select the icon as an easy shortcut to access the Harmonious Screens you just crafted. Hide Vanellope’s house behind the screens.
Once you’ve placed the screens, talk to Cogsworth. You’ll then need to enter ‘Furniture’ mode again, and remove all the screens you placed around Vanellope’s house.
Talk to Vanellope once you’ve removed the screens. Talk to Cogsworth about the situation. Next, talk to Moana about being a lifeguard.
Search the sandy shoreline for sparkling spots of lifeguard chair pieces. You can use your Royal Shovel to dig the parts up on Dazzle Beach. You should be able to find 4 Tropical Lifeguard Chair pieces on the beach.
Use your Royal Fishing Rod in orange (gold) fishing ripples to obtain the remaining 2 pieces of the broken lifeguard chair. Once you’ve collected all 6 pieces, visit a crafting station.
You’ll find the Tropical Lifeguard Chair recipe on the ‘Furniture’ tab of the crafting recipes once you interact with the crafting station. Place the Tropical Lifeguard Chair on Dazzle Beach by using the ‘Furniture’ mode from your inventory.
You’ll see a shortcut icon showing Cogsworth’s head in the ‘Furniture’ decorating mode. Select it to easily access the Tropical Lifeguard Chair.
Talk to Moana once the chair is placed somewhere on Dazzle Beach. Talk to Cogsworth, then talk to Stitch.
You’ll need to collect Cogsworth’s Gears in the following places:
- Forest of Valor
- Dazzle Beach
- The Plaza
You should be able to see golden-colored gears flying around the biomes. The gears should have a path so you can time your interaction properly to pick them up.
If you want to chase them, you can use the sprint function to make catching the gears easier. Make sure your energy bar has enough yellow in it to sprint if you want to chase the gears.
Talk to Cogsworth to give him the 3 gears you’ve found. This will complete the quest.
