The plot thickens in this Disney Dreamlight Valley mystery at the Beast’s castle. Is Madame La Blanche to blame for the strange occurrences, or is something else behind the chaos?

Prerequisites For The ‘Belle, Book, And Candle’ Quest
To get the ‘Belle, Book, And Candle’ quest, you’ll need to do the following:
- Welcome Belle to the valley.
- Welcome Beast to the valley.
- Complete ‘The Haunting Of The Beast’s Castle‘ quest.
- Complete the ‘A Growing Mystery‘ quest.
You can check the status of this quest once you have it unlocked. Just visit the main menu and look at the ‘Quests’ tab.
Talk To Lumiere
To officially begin the ‘Belle, Book, And Candle’ quest, you’ll need to talk to Lumiere.
He should be standing in the area with the grand piano. He’ll give you some tasks to complete while he searches for the rest of Madame La Blanche’s book.
You’ll need to do the following tasks:
- Return the Standing Candelabra to its place near the stairs.
- Return the Lion Statue to its place upstairs.
- Return the Globe to the library.
The items needing to be returned to their proper places will be automatically given to you. You can double check to make sure you have them by viewing your inventory.
To place the candelabra, proceed down the hallway past the grand piano. You should see a place with swirling flower petals.
Interact to place the candelabra. Head up the stairs and you should see the next place swirling with flower petals.
You can place the lion statue there. Just interact with the spot to transfer the statue.
Take a left from where you placed the statue and follow the hallway to the library. The place to put the globe should be easily visible once you get to the library. It’s just inside the entrance.
Interact with the swirling flower petal area to place the globe. Two items will appear after placing the globe.

- Second Enigmatic Key
Return to the grand piano area to talk to Lumiere, and to show him what you’ve found. Check the West Wing, the Beast’s room, for the rest of the book.
If you notice smoke hovering around items, try using your Royal Watering Can to clean the item. You may receive pieces of a painting while you’re cleaning.
Search Beast’s room for more swirling flower petals. Interact with the spot to collect the Damaged Domestic Manual.
Return to the grand piano area and talk to Lumiere again. You’ll then need to leave the realm and talk to Beast while he’s in his home.

Even if you see Belle and the Beast outside their home, simply enter their home. They should appear inside, and Beast should have a blue quest marker above his head.
Talk to Beast to continue the quest. Belle will give you some glue during the conversation.
Visit a crafting station anywhere in the valley to repair the book. The recipe will show up in the ‘Functional Items‘ section of the Crafting Recipes.
Return to Lumiere in the Beast’s castle realm. Talk to Lumiere to show him the repaired book.
Interact with the nearby stand to place the newly-repaired book. You’ll need to collect the Third Enigmatic Key that will appear after placing the book.
Talk to Lumiere about the new key. You’ll open the triple-locked box, which will cause 2 items to appear.
Collect:
- The Bag
- The Invitation
Talk to Lumiere about the contents of the mysterious box. This will complete the quest and give you the next one called, ‘A Guide To Better Castle-Keeping‘.
