The Emotions, at least Joy and Sadness, from Disney’s Inside Out movie are coming to Disney Dreamlight Valley. They are sure to shake things up a bit while Riley learns how to deal with complex feelings.
Help Joy and Sadness get settled into valley life by leveling them up and doing their quests. They may be great at tackling problems on their own, but it’s more fun to give them a helping hand.
Prerequisites For The ‘Storm’s A-Brewin’!’ Quest
To get the ‘Storm’s A-Brewin’!’ quest, you’ll need to do the following:
- Have Joy and Sadness welcomed to the valley.
- Have Joy at friendship level 2 or higher.
- Have Sadness at friendship level 2 or higher.
- Have Chez Remy unlocked.
- Have Scrooge’s General Store unlocked.
- Have access to Dazzle Beach.
- Have access to the Peaceful Meadow.
Talk To Sadness
To get the ‘Storm’s A-Brewin!’ quest started, just talk to Sadness. She should have a quest marker above her head if you’ve met the prerequisites.
Sadness has some mildly alarming news. She tells you that it has been raining indoors in some areas, and it’s not the “leak” type of indoor raining.
You’ll have the option to visit the following areas to check out the scenes for yourself:
- Chez Remy
- Scrooge McDuck’s Store
- The Dream Castle
You will need to take a picture of one of the indoor rain clouds for your research. Once you’ve collected the visual evidence of the indoor raining, talk to Joy.
Sadness might need some cheering up, so try collecting 10 blue flowers, and give them to her. After you discuss how Sadness is feeling, you realize that perhaps the indoor rain clouds are caused by other villagers’ feelings.
You’ll need to help the villagers feel comfortable talking about their feelings with you. Craft 3 Tissue Boxes and a pair of Crying Eye Glasses.
Here are the materials you’ll need:
- 13 Softwood
- 6 Fiber
- 5 Night Shards
- 5 Sand
You’ll find the recipe for the Crying Glasses in the ‘Functional Items’ section of the Crafting Recipes. The Tissue Box recipe will be in the ‘Furniture’ section. Return to Sadness and talk to her for the next part of the plan.
Equip the Crying Glasses from your wardrobe interface and head to Chez Remy. The glasses can be found easily by using the ‘Requests’ section in the wardrobe. You should see a Sadness quest icon with the glasses pre-selected.
Talk to Remy to see if there’s anything that’s been weighing on his mind. Once you’ve finished the chat, the indoor rain clouds should disappear in Chez Remy.
Next, head to Scrooge’s store. Make sure to keep the Crying Glasses equipped. Talk to Scrooge McDuck to see how he’s been feeling lately.
The last stop on the list will be the Dream Castle. You’ll need to enter the Dream Castle to chat with Mickey.
Once all the indoor rain clouds have been cleared up, talk to Sadness. She’s still worried, but doesn’t quite know why.
Search Dreamlight Valley to see if there are any more rain clouds lurking around. When you find one, take a picture of it.
Talk to Sadness once you have the picture. She’ll have an unorthodox plan to help the rain clouds move on.
You’ll have a watering can upgrade in your inventory. The icon will be a picture of your Royal Watering Can. Use the upgrade from your inventory to apply it to your watering can.
Use your Royal Watering Can to add Sadness’ tears to the rain cloud. There should be a total of 4 rain clouds to find. Once you’ve watered all the clouds, you’ll obtain a Plush Bear Body. Talk to Sadness about your find.
Rain Cloud Locations
The rain clouds should be outdoors in the Plaza and Peaceful Meadow.
The discussion with Sadness will end the quest, and Sadness will explain she needs some time alone. If you haven’t done it already, you’ll want to do Joy’s quest, ‘Capture The Sun‘.
