Sanrio does a great job at creating memorable and loveable characters with diverse backstories and personalities. It’s especially fun to be able to celebrate with a favorite character during their birthday.
Pekkle’s birthday is July 27th, so you’ll have the perfect opportunity to celebrate this toe-tapping buddy on Friendship Island. My Melody will give you some details about what you should collect when you log into Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

What To Collect For Pekkle’s Birthday
You’ll need to head to Gemstone Mountain to collect Pekkle Decorating Kits. Collect the following items to get the kits:
- Shinies
- Fizzy Ore
- Calm Crystals
- Flour (from My Melody)
You can make Pekkle’s special birthday cake by interacting with any oven, such as the one in the Hello Kitty Café, and combining 1 Pekkle Decorating Kit, and 1 Flour.
How To Get The Pekkle Birthday Quest
To get Pekkle’s birthday quest, ‘Finding Your Groove‘, you’ll need to talk to him. Unless you have in-progress quests, he should be hanging out at Gemstone Mountain.
You can get close to his usual location by using the Gemstone Town fast-travel waypoint. After talking to Pekkle, you’ll need to catch fish with him.
You’ll only need to catch 1 fish, then you’ll need to talk to Pekkle to see if he’s having a good time. Pekkle decides he wants to do something a bit more active.
Visit Hello Kitty at the café. Talk to Hello Kitty to see if she could use some help. You’ll need the following ingredients for the next part:
9 Flour
2 Strawberries
3 Pineapples
4 Tofu
Make 2 Strawberry Shortcakes and then talk to Hello Kitty again. Next you’ll need to make 3 Pineapple Stack Cakes. Check back in with Hello Kitty to see what else need to be made.
Make 4 Tofu Bread and talk to Hello Kitty again. Hello Kitty recommends trying something new by consulting Kuromi. Head to the Spooky Swamp and talk to Kuromi.
You’ll get closest to Kuromi by using the main Spooky Swamp fast-travel waypoint. Craft a Deep Diving Potion at Kuromi’s cauldron.
You’ll need:
1 Glow Berry
1 Sugarkelp
After you’ve made the potion, check in with Kuromi. You’ll automatically return to Gemstone Mountain with Pekkle. Talk to Pekkle. You’ll receive a Pekkle Party Favor, and the blueprints for the Pekkle Birthday Balloons.
You can gift Pekkle’s Birthday Cake to him, and both the cake and balloons can be placed in cabins. You’ll need the following to craft the Pekkle Birthday Balloons:
25 Rubber
5 Iron
15 Feathers
