Palia, a multiplayer indie cozy game, has quite a few characters. Each has their own backstory which you learn as you befriend the villagers.
Ashura was part of the military force during the Umbraan war, but hasn’t been able to talk about it since. Auni’s discovery may be just what you need to help Ashura take the first steps to processing what happened during the war.
Prerequisites For The ‘Sins Of The Father’
To get the ‘Sins Of The Father‘ quest, you’ll need to reach friendship level 5 with Ashura.
You’ll also need to meet Auni at your personal home plot. Talk to him to begin the quest. Read the logbook he gives you by checking the quest part of your inventory.
Return The Logbook To Ashura
Ashura hasn’t been able to talk about the Umbraan war since we’ve known him. He’s even mentioned that the first person he wants to tell is Sabine, who passed away and is on the other side of the veil.
After Auni brings you Ashura’s logbook, though, it’s natural to have some concerns and questions. Ashura still has difficulty talking about it though, so he encourages you to question some others instead, and perhaps see if you can find a book about it.
Talk To Villagers
You’ll want to talk to Caleri at a time when she’s working in the library at the front desk. After talking to her, head to the back of the library with raised platform.
There should be a book you can interact with in the bookcase on the right side of the platform. You could choose to ask 9 villagers about the Umbraan war instead of talking to Caleri if you prefer.
You can do one OR the other. Once you’ve talked to Caleri the quest objective will complete and you’ll be prompted to return to Ashura.
Prepare An Offering For Sabine
Ashura is beginning to share more about his role in the Umbraan war. He’s finally willing to tell Sabine, in his own way.
Help him prepare an offering for her by bringing the following items:
1 Chili Oil Dumplings meal
1 Shepp’s Pie meal
1 Apple Pie
5 Sundrop Lilies
1 Flow-Infused Wood
Return to Ashura once you have everything you need in your inventory. After you give him the offerings for Sabine, you’ll need to wait for a letter from Ashura.
You should get the letter at the next regular mail delivery. Talk to Ashura when he’s in his room. After the quest completes, a short cutscene will play.
