When things are getting curiouser and curiouser in Disney Dreamlight Valley, it’s probably time to check out the castle. A new Wonderland realm door is hidden behind night thorns.
It’s time to venture into the bizarre and try to bring Alice to the valley. Make sure you have pocket space, Dreamlight, star coins, and a sense of adventure before you begin.
Unlocking The Wonderland Realm

Before you can embark on your own bizarre journey into the Wonderland realm, you’ll need to have a whopping 15,000 Dreamlight saved up.
You’ll also need to make sure you’re on the latest version of the game. If you have access to the Garden of Whimsy Star Path event, you’ll also have access to the Wonderland realm.
If you’re short on Dreamlight, and need to know how to earn or craft some, check out this post. The Wonderland realm door is on the topmost floor in the castle, directly behind the fountain.
Follow The White Rabbit

As soon as you unlock the door to the Wonderland realm, things are a little…unusual. You’re probably excited to get through the door, but first you’re on a wild goose chase through your valley for a white rabbit.
The white rabbit should be waiting for you in the Plaza near the central steps leading into the Peaceful Meadow. You need to chase the rabbit, but you’ll be able to easily tell which rabbit to chase.
This white rabbit will leave a trail of playing card suits (hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades) as it runs around. Follow it until it vanishes and leaves a pocket watch behind. Pick up the pocket watch, and inspect the small tunnel it left behind.
Explore The Forest In Wonderland

After inspecting the small tunnel you’ll be transported into a forest. Clearly the first thing you should do in a strange forest is to wander around and take in all the sights. Maybe don’t do that in real life, but in Wonderland it’s expected.
You’ll take the path straight ahead to find Alice. Alice will have a blue quest marker above her head. Chat with her to team up, and be prepared to follow her once the dialogue is done.
If you happen to miss where she goes, you’ll want to take the path on the left. Some mysterious things happen, and you end up in a part of the forest with no sign of Alice.
Inspect the sparkling area for footprints. Looks like you’ll need a little help from the Cheshire Cat lurking in the large red tree. Chat with the Cheshire Cat in the tree.
Search For The Cheshire Cat’s Smile

It’s no surprise that the Cheshire Cat is a little sly and mischievous. To make any progress, you’ll need to find the Cheshire Cat’s smile in the forest. There are three smiles to find.
Proceed to the next area to find the Cheshire Cat’s smile in front of a bush. Interact with the smile to remove it.
| While searching for the Cheshire Cat’s smile, you can interact with objects in the Cheshire Cat’s color scheme. They should be magenta or magenta and purple. The objects will turn into green treasure chests to loot. |
Travel to the next area. There’s no smile here so you can just take the path to the right and head to the next area. You’ll find a Cheshire Cat smile on a tree trunk. Interact to remove it.

This current area with the red tree has three total paths. Take the path to the left of the tree that had the Cheshire Cat smile. In the next area take the path to the right (it’s the only other path in that area).
Continue straight ahead on the path to the next area. You should run into the last Cheshire Cat smile on a rock. Interact to remove that one as well.

After you’ve removed all three smiles, return to the large red tree where the Cheshire Cat resides.
If you haven’t found all the magenta items, you’ll need to collect those after talking to the Cheshire Cat. If you already gathered them, you’ll be able to progress right away.
Once you have the items, talk to the Cheshire Cat again. Return to the entrance area of the Wonderland forest where the cooking fire and crafting table are located.
You’ll have two new recipes available to use when you interact with the cooking fire. Cook a Spicy Moment meal and a Sweet Moment meal.
Once you’ve made both meals, you’ll then need to cook a More Time meal. Despite its questionable looks, you’ll also need to eat it. Return to the big red tree and talk to the Cheshire Cat.
Follow The Mome Raths

After you chat with the Cheshire Cat, he’ll tell you to follow the Mome Raths to find Alice. The Mome Raths are the small multi-colored “flowers” on the ground.
Walk up to the flowers, and they will pop up and reassemble themselves into an arrow to show you where to go. Follow all the mome rath arrows to arrive at a new special location.
You should end up at a tree with a blue portal inside if you’ve followed the mome raths properly.

Enter the portal to continue your search for Alice. You’ll get a cutscene when you enter, which may help you with the next part of your adventure.
The Queen’s Maze

You’ve found your way to the Queen’s Maze. If the guards spot you, you’re in trouble. Avoid the yellow circles on the ground which show you where the guards are looking.
You’ll need to find a heart lever to open the heart-shaped iron gate. Work your way through the maze and interact with the lever when you find it. Next, make your way to the heart-shaped iron gate that it showed in the cutscene.
Queen’s Maze Solution
Take the first left.
Follow the path with the heart trees on the left side.
At the fork in the path, go left.
At the end of the path take a right.
Keep going until you see the iron fence with red hearts on it.
Follow that path to the right.
Continue down that path, and when the guard is looking away, pass the guard and take a right.
You’ll be in the area with the lever. Interact with the lever to open the gate.
Enter the new area that is across from the guard you just sneaked around.
On your left is a hedge that will grow larger and smaller. When it gets smaller, enter the area on the left to find another lever.
Interact with the lever, which will open another gate.
Another hidden area with a hedge that grows larger and smaller is across from the section with the lever. This one holds a treasure chest.
On the main path, use the alternate path behind the guard to continue forward.
At the next guard, wait for them to look away and proceed straight ahead to the next area.
Go straight ahead toward the hedge, and a section of the hedge maze should shrink like the previous ones did.
Enter the section and interact with another lever. This will remove one of the gates on the double-gated doorway.
Walk to the left in that same area to the end of that hedge. Another hedge doorway should reveal itself.
Make your way around the guard nearby to reach the next lever. Interact with the lever, and continue through the open gate.
At this next section take the path on the right.
Take a left when you get to a guard and sneak into the next area.
Approach the middle of the hedge wall for a secret path.
You’ll enter a small alcove with a green treasure chest to loot.
Go through the door at the other end of the alcove.
With proper timing you can sneak past the three guards leading to the maze exit.
The exit is lined with guards, but they’re not the type you need to avoid. You can walk through to the next area.
Pass through the hall of card guards to exit the maze and enter the Queen’s garden.
Teeny, Tiny Problems

Talk to Alice once you find her on the tea party table. You’ll need to take the springy pink mushroom near the table to get back to the forest.
Talk to the Cheshire Cat. He’ll give you some clues about what you’ll need to do to get more Contrary Perfume.
First, head back to the forest entrance with the crafting table and fish for a Jar of Hearts. There will be orange fishing ripples to show you where to fish.
Next, you’ll need to talk with the large orange flower in the middle of the forest. Just follow the center path until you come across some oversized flowers. The “matriarch” will have a blue quest marker over her head.
Water the singing flowers with your Royal Watering Can. When you water the flowers you’ll receive 2 Discontented Seeds.
For the next part, make sure to change into a piece of blue clothing. Head back to the forest entrance to find the large blue mushroom and stand next to it.
It will give you a more normal-sized blue mushroom. Head to the next area where there is a stack of books on the right. A pencil bird is perched atop the book stack.
Talk to the bird and answer the quiz questions. If you want help on the answers, check the solution below.
Question Answers
Some of these answers are undoubtedly wrong, but it didn’t seem to matter. These are the ones we used during the quiz.
How many pink stripes are on the Cheshire Cat’s tail? 2
What animal did you chase to get here? A white rabbit
What did the Mad Hatter and March Hare celebrate at Alice’s first tea party on Wonderland? An unbirthday
How many playing-card guards did you meet in the Queen’s Garden maze? 17
How many questions have I asked so far, including this one? 5
You’ll obtain a Wonderland Plaque once you’ve answered all the questions. Head back to the forest entrance to craft the Contrary Perfume.
Return To Alice in The Queen of Hearts’ Garden

To get back to the Queen of Hearts’ garden, if you’re in the forest entrance area, head to the next area. This should be where you found the pencil bird.
Take the path on the right to get to the next area. Next, take the path on the left and continue straight until you encounter the springy pink mushroom.
Give Alice the Contrary Perfume you made. Once she’s back to normal size, you can talk to her again. She’ll lead you to a place nearby to show you what she’s been trying to do.
Now, it’s your turn to get tiny by using the Contrary Perfume. Interact with the perfume on the tea table to get a close-up view of the cluttered table.
Take a picture of the tea table with your Royal camera, then travel up the plates to reach the bottle of Contrary Perfume. Interact to produce a perfume puddle on the table.
Go back down the plate ramp to reach the pink perfume puddle on the table. Interact with it to get back to normal size. Talk to Alice to find out the next steps.
She’ll need you to search the garden for Playing Cards, Lost Marbles, and Lovely Dice. Once you’ve found everything return to the tea table.
Locations for the quest items.
The Playing Cards should be to the right of the tea table by the fencing.
The Lost Marbles are on the garden path area to the right of the main locked gate.
The Lovely Dice are directly across from the tea table in the opposite garden section.
To place them, simply interact with the table and select all the proper items from your inventory. Use the Contrary Perfume again to shrink.
Find The Four Cage Keys

While you’re tiny on the tea table, you can interact with certain items. Sometimes you can interact multiple times. You can form ramps to reach other areas by interacting.
If you walk up the cards on the left side, you’ll reach a card that you can interact with. It will have the Cheshire Cat’s face on it, and it will be wearing a jester hat. Interact with it to form a bridge to the next teacup.
You’ll come to a vertical card with the same jester Cheshire Cat design. Interact with the card to form a ramp.
Walk up the ramp to get to the cracked teapot. Use your Royal Pickaxe to break the teapot. Next, fish in the orange ripples in the teacup.
You should fish up one of the keys you need. Go back down to the main table area.
Take one of the card paths on the tabletop to get to the left side of the tea table. On the left side of the table there’s a card ramp with one of the keys visible at the top of the ramp.
Nearby, there’s a plate filled with large sugar cubes. Use your Royal Watering Can to dissolve the sugar cubes a little and grab the hidden key.
Follow the card path up a ramp to get to the cupcake on the table. Use your Royal Shovel to dig into the pink frosting and free the key.
The targeting is a bit finicky on the cupcake, so you’ll have to walk around to target it properly before you can dig. If you have issues, try walking to the edge of the cupcake facing away from it.
Even though you have all 4 keys now, head back down the ramp and pick up the globs of frosting that you shoveled off the top of the cupcake. You might need them later.
Go back to the bottom of the ramp you used to get to the cupcake. There should be a vertical card with the jester Cheshire Cat on it. Interact with the card to slide it out of the way.
Follow the path that has been revealed to find a green treasure chest. Then return to the perfume puddle on the table to get back to Alice.
Talk to Alice to give the 4 keys to her. She’ll take care of freeing the animals.
Leaving Wonderland

The animals created a bit of a mess in the Queen’s garden as they escaped. You should clean it up before you leave.
Alice will give you a Pot of Red Paint. Use it from your inventory to apply it to your Royal Watering Can.
Water the 5 white rose trees in the garden. After the watering has been done, remove the cracked ground (burrow holes) with your Royal Shovel. There will be 7 holes total.
Next, clean up the Broken Plates on the ground around the tea party table. Just interact to remove them. Once that’s done, talk to Alice.
You can use the springy pink mushroom to help you get back to the forest entrance. Once you arrive, Alice will be there, but she’ll start running away almost immediately.
Follow her to the Cheshire Cat’s tree and listen to their conversation. You’ll end up back in the forest’s entrance where there are tall mushroom clusters in different colors.
Light up the correct mushrooms to continue. Once you’ve lit up the proper combination of mushrooms, talk to Alice.
Mushroom lighting solution.
Light up the pink mushrooms and the blue mushrooms.
Alice will apply Contrary Perfume to your Royal Watering Can. Water the Wonderland door to make it bigger.
Talk to Alice, then return to the castle through the door. Place and build Alice’s house. You’ll need 5,000 star coins to build her house.
Chat with Alice once you’ve welcomed her to the valley. She hopes the Cheshire Cat will come to the valley.
Head back into the Wonderland realm and meet the Cheshire Cat at his tree. Invite him to your valley. Follow the trail of paw prints he left behind after the conversation to find out where he went.
When you get back to the valley, talk to Alice for help. This will complete the quest “Leaving Wonderland”.
