We may be used to seeing holiday events in our games, but Hello Kitty Island Adventure has an event for the month of May that is a little different. The event acknowledges the fact that sometimes we have ‘meh’ days where we’d rather stay in bed.
This “may” just be the strangest event in the game. You’ll find odd things such as a golden egg shrine, or rather a golden gudetama shrine.
There will also be Nietsama, a character with more humanoid proportions dressed in a yellow skin-tight body suit. They’re embodying the role of…well, an egg yolk.

How To Participate In The ‘Month of Meh I’ Event
There are a few things you can do to participate in this event. First of all, just logging into the game will give you some rewards.
There are 14 days worth of login rewards to claim, so be sure to login for at least 14 days. You’ll also encounter oversized eggs from around the island.
The best way to get yolks is to search for Nietsama on the island. Once you find the yellow-clad dancing character, snap a picture of him to get 7 yolks. Yolks are the special currency for this event. You can find Nietsama once per day.
Don’t forget to check your in-game mail as well. You should have a letter from the developers with some yolks to get you started.
You can also complete daily quests for a chance to earn a few more egg yolks. If you’re short on time you don’t need to worry about it too much as a daily quest will only usually give you 1 egg yolk.
Use Yolks To Get Rewards
When you’ve collected enough yolks, you can exchange the yolks for rewards at the golden egg shrine. These rewards are on the silly side, and embrace the egg theme of the event.
Even if you don’t think this event is all it’s cracked up to be, you may want to get the rewards to use for decorating character cabins. If you’re a bit of a collector, you’ll want to grab as many of these rewards as possible.
You should be able to get plenty of yolks to obtain at least one of each reward if you take the time to locate Nietsama each day for a few days.

Don’t forget that the Imaginarium Celebration is also still happening, so be sure to get the special treasure chests if you happen to login. The Month of Meh will be ongoing for the entire month, so stock up on those egg-citing rewards while you can. Sorry, we couldn’t resist the pun.
