How to Get Dreamlight

Disney Dreamlight Valley has a few different types of currencies. In the base game you’ll have Star Coins which you’ll use to buy items in Scrooge’s shop, and you’ll have Dreamlight. Dreamlight is a special magic power that allows you to do certain things, such as unlock biomes and realms.

If you’ve been playing the game for awhile, you probably have tons of Dreamlight. If you’re new to the game, however, you might still be trying to figure out how to get enough Dreamlight to keep up with all the new content updates.

Check The Plaza Well or Menu

One of the best ways to gain Dreamlight is to check the well in the Plaza, or the menu. There’s a section called “Dreamlight”, and a list on the left of the types of tasks that will help you earn Dreamlight.

Some tasks are long-term so they’ll take you a long time to achieve. These are best for accomplishing through your normal preferred playstyle. The section called “Dreamlight Duties” has easy tasks to accomplish.

Dreamlight Duties are like daily quests. They’re quick to complete, and once you complete one, a new one will show up. There is no cap on how much Dreamlight you can earn per day, so you can play to your heart’s content, though you may run out of Dreamlight Duties.

Take Matters Into Your Own Hands With Crafting

If grinding those daily Dreamlight Duties is boring you to tears, you can have a more direct impact using a crafting bench. This isn’t as easy as Dreamlight Duties because it’s more of a two-step process.

First you’ll need to run around your valley doing some digging. If you see cracks in the ground with sparkles coming out, get that Royal Shovel out and dig. You’ll either receive Night Shards, or Dream Shards.

You’ll want to collect plenty of Dream Shards, and then visit a crafting bench. Once you’ve progressed enough through the main story, you’ll be able to turn Dream Shards into Dreamlight.

You’ll need 10 Dream Shards before you can craft Dreamlight, but you’ll get 250 Dreamlight for those shards.

If you combine collecting Dream Shards, as well as Dreamlight Duties, you should be able to acquire Dreamlight quickly.
