Farming works a little differently in Moonlight Peaks. Plants still need water, but some need a more magical touch than other plants.
Learn about farming Herbs from Luna. It’s a win-win since she needs your help getting some Nightshade Powder.
Prerequisites For ‘The Need For Herbs’ Quest
To get ‘The Need For Herbs’ quest in Moonlight Peaks, you should do the following:
- Complete ‘The Magic Of Crops‘ quest.
- Complete ‘The Quest For Mana‘ quest.
- Check in-game mail for a letter from Luna titled “A Growing Interest”.
You can check the status of the quest in the ‘Quest Log’ part of the menu. Quests will update as you complete objectives.
Visit Luna’s Farm
Once you have the ‘A Growing Interest’ letter from Luna, visit her farm. You’ll receive a cutscene when you get close enough.
Luna will share a special way to grow new herb crops. She’ll give you blueprints for the Herb Garden item, the Herb Drying Rack, and the Enchanted Mortar.
Herbs require different care than either regular or magical crops. After they have grown, you can harvest the crops like normal, but you’ll then need to dry and possibly grind the herbs.
Make Nightshade Powder
Luna needs some Nightshade Powder, which is a great way to learn about growing and using herbs in the game. You’ll need the following things:
- Herb Garden (given by Luna)
- Herb Drying Rack (crafted at Workbench)
- Enchanted Mortar (crafted at Workbench)
You’ll automatically get the Herb Garden from Luna when you visit her farm after receiving the letter. You’ll get blueprints for all the items, but you’ll need the following materials to craft the 2 items she doesn’t give you:
- 5 Iron Bars
- 10 Refined Stone
- 30 Wood
Once you have the resources, interact with the Workbench and craft an Herb Drying Rack, and an Enchanted Mortar. Once you’ve placed the Herb Garden on your farm, plant the 4 Nightshade Seeds in it.
Use the Aquaflux I spell to water the Nightshade Seeds in the Herb Garden. Water them daily with the spell until they are fully grown and ready for harvest.
The Nightshade Seeds will take 4 days to grow. Once you can harvest the plants, you’ll need to put them on the Herb Drying Rack.
After a few in-game days, you’ll be able to collect the Dried Nightshade. Interact with the Enchanted Mortar to put all 4 dried herbs into it.
When the Enchanted Mortar is finished, take the 4 Nightshade Powder and talk to Luna to deliver it. Luna will tell you that she’s planning to offer potions at Webb of Wonders in the future.
