Belle has found something mysterious in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and she’d like your help. She wants to go on a treasure hunt in the valley.
Nothing beats an exciting adventure story, except perhaps living your own adventure. Work with Belle, and the clues she has, to discover ‘The Chronicles Of The Ancients’ and make some memories together.
Prerequisites For ‘The Chronicles Of The Ancients’ Quest
To get ‘The Chronicles Of The Ancients’ quest, you’ll need to do the following:
- Have Belle at friendship level 10.
- Unlock the following characters:
- The Fairy Godmother
- Beast
- Ariel
- Unlock the following biomes:
- Frosted Heights
- Sunlit Plateau
- Forgotten Lands
- Glade of Trust
You can check the status of the quest any time by visiting the main menu ‘Quests’ section. The quest will appear with a Belle icon.
How To Get ‘The Chronicles Of The Ancients’ Quest
To get the quest, you’ll need to talk to Belle. Enter the Beast’s castle and interact with the Journal on the table at the back of the house.
Examine the page that fell out of the Journal. Find Belle and talk to her about your discovery.
Check with Ariel to see if she found anything on her island when she was stranded that might have to do with Belle’s latest mystery. Travel to Ariel’s island to check on the glow Ariel mentioned.
Investigate the area, then return to Belle and talk to her about what you’ve found. Gather the following materials for your project:
- 4 Ropes
- 2 Iron Ingots (not wrought iron)
Talk to the Beast to give him the materials you collected. You can wear a Rustic Outfit for the occasion by accessing the ‘Wardrobe’ from your inventory.
That part of the quest is optional though, so you don’t need to change into work wear if you don’t want to. If you want to change, you can use the Belle icon shortcut to view clothing items that fit the theme of the quest.
Go back to Ariel’s island and meet with the others. Talk to the Beast about moving the rocks. Interact with the chest to take the scroll.
Pick up the scroll to view what’s on it. Talk with Belle about what’s written on the scroll. You’ll need to locate the symbols from the map.
You can wait for night to see the symbols better, or you can use your in-game camera function and take a picture of the symbol during the day (or night). Once you’ve taken a picture of the symbol talk to Belle.
The rest of the symbols will be located in other places around Dreamlight Valley. The symbols will be on permanent terrain, like perimeter rocks.

Near watery ruins.
Under the eyes of icy peaks.
In the darkest part of the lands.
Belle and the Beast will take the mysterious chest back to the Beast’s castle. Finding the symbols will be easier at night, but you can still search during the day if you want.
Take pictures of each symbol using the in-game camera when you find them. Once you’ve taken pictures of the remaining symbols, go to the Beast’s castle and open the chest.
Talk to Belle about what you’ve found. Bring The Chronicles Of The Ancients to the Fairy Godmother to see if she can help.
Talk to the Fairy Godmother about the device. Gather the following materials to repair the crack in the screen:
- 1 Sapphire
- 10 Gold Ingots
- 3 Vitalys Crystals
- 5 Dream Shards
Once you have all the materials in your inventory, talk to the Fairy Godmother. Bring the device to Belle, and talk to her to give it to her.
Use ‘Furniture’ mode from your inventory to place The Chronicles Of The Ancients near the Dreamlight Library. You can use the Belle icon shortcut to easily access the furniture.
Talk to Belle once you’ve placed the device next to the library. This will complete the quest.
