It’s the season of giving in Disney Dreamlight Valley with a special event from December 17th, 2025 to December 31, 2025. Your valley is full of familiar faces, and what better way to celebrate than to deliver some cheerful gifts? Or coal, whatever works.
Enjoy some relaxing holiday fun in your game and collect rewards. You’ll have even more fun decorating with the new Touch of Magic gift boxes, as long as you can find the mysterious presents hidden in your valley.
Prerequisites For The ‘Gift Of Giving’ Event
Most of the event should be accessible, but in order to receive the red mystery chest, your Frozen Heights biome will need to be unlocked. Make sure to unlock it if you haven’t already.
This also means you’ll need to unlock the Forest of Valor, since you need to travel through the forest to reach the Frosted Heights entrances. You’ll need 10,000 Dreamlight to unlock Frosted Heights, and 3,000 Dreamlight to unlock the Forest of Valor if you don’t have it unlocked yet.

The Gift Of Giving Event Activities
For the ‘Gift Of Giving’ event, you’ll be able to do the following activities:
- Collect red wrapping paper rolls in the Plaza (or wherever you placed Scrooge’s store).
- Catch special Festive Fish from red and green ripples.
- Craft gift boxes to give villagers.
- Build a snowman. (Open a red chest in the Plaza to get the memory clue)
- Find mystery gifts around Dreamlight Valley.
- Check the Palace’s Christmas Tree on December 25, 2025 (redeemable up through December 31st, 2025).
Each day from December 17th through December 21st you should be able to find a mystery gift somewhere in your valley . If you aren’t able to find or claim them, they should still be available to claim through December 31st.
Gift Box Crafting Supplies
Here are the supplies you’ll need to craft gift boxes for your Dreamlight Valley friends, and enemies. You’ll find the giftable box recipes in the ‘Functional Items’ section of crafting recipes.
Gifts that you find around the valley will give you the new gift boxes. These will show up in the ‘Furniture’ section of your crafting recipes and can be placed as decorations.

The Gift Of Giving Event Duties
There are 5 ‘Gift Of Giving’ event duties. If you’ve participated in previous years’ events, you may have already completed some of the duties.
Any duties you’ve completed and claimed prizes for will show “CLAIMED” at the bottom of the duty. Here is a list of the duties, and how to completed each one:
- Cookie Taste Test: Eat 3 cookies.
- Even Fish Are Festive!: Catch 5 festive fish.
- A Home for the Holidays: Decorate indoors with 5 ‘Festive’ items.
- Ho Ho Ho!: Give 10 gifts.
- Do You Wanna Craft a Snowman? : Craft 1 snowman.
How Often Can I Get Festive Wrapping Paper Rolls?
Every 2 hours, 1-2 Festive Wrapping Paper rolls can appear around Scrooge’s shop. A maximum of 4 can exist at any one time, so if you see one be sure to pick it up so more can spawn later.
Wrapping paper only appears around Scrooge’s shop in the main valley biomes, so you don’t need to worry about checking his shop in expansion content.
