The situation in Palia‘s Elderwood is concerning. A purplish fog seems to permeate the air and changes anything that is exposed to it after a while.
Subira has been investigating the situation with your help. This time, you need some help from Hassian to be able to gather samples from infected wildlife.
Prerequisites For The ‘Shot In The Dark’ Quest
To get the ‘Shot In The Dark’ quest, you’ll need to do the following:
- Complete ‘The Elderwood‘ and beginning quests.
- Complete ‘The Nature Of Shadows‘ quest.
You can check the status of this quest by visiting the ‘Quests’ section of the main menu. It’s in the ‘Main Story’ tab in the ‘Guide’ category.
Talk To Subira
In order to get the ‘Shot In The Dark’ quest, you’ll need to talk to Subira. She should be in the central stable area of the Elderwood. She’ll have a quest that says something about hunting infected wildlife.
You’ll want to choose that quest option to begin the quest. She’ll of course recommend that you talk to Hassian for tips on hunting infected wildlife.
You’ll need to collect the following:
- 4 Materials for arrow shafts
- 1 Ancient wood
- 1 Sapwood
- 1 Heartwood
- 1 Flow wood
- 4 Materials for arrowheads
- 1 Stone
- 1 Whitestone
- 1 Clay
- 1 Flint
- 10 Infected essence
The quest will give you an optional activity, which is to read the material list that Hassian gives you. As of the date of this article, we did not receive any such list to review.
If you do receive a list, you should be able to read it, but it won’t be required and you can continue with the quest without the list. Once you have everything listed above, you can return to Hassian.
Talk to Hassian to give him the materials. You’ll receive 20 Elderwood arrows, as well as the recipe to craft more.
To craft your own set of 20 Elderwood arrows you’ll need the following:
- 5 Ancient wood
- 1 Palium bar
- 10 Infected essence
You should now be able to fight any wildlife that looks tainted by the infected essence.
