Every character in Palia has a distinct personality. Elouisa is all about superstition and seemingly-outlandish ideas about the world.
The Elderwood is the perfect spot for her to be able to study artifacts and mysterious things. In return, she can give you some advice on crafting relics which will help you in specific ways while you explore the Elderwood.
Prerequisites For The ‘Essence Hunter’ Quest

To get the ‘Essence Hunter’ quest you’ll need to do the following:
Complete ‘Pieces of the Past‘ quest.
Purchase the Brighteye Amulet schematic from the relic store. (Other relic purchases may also reward this quest)
| We recommend purchasing the Brighteye Amulet for its ability to give you more Infected Essence during your Elderwood activities. Essence is used for many things, sometimes in very large quantities. Starting with this amulet can make other things easier to obtain. |
You can check the status of this quest at any time in the ‘Quests’ part of the main menu. It should show up in the ‘Main Story’ tab, under the section labeled ‘Guide’.
Talk To Elouisa

Talk to Elouisa once you have this quest. She’ll give you more details along with a list of materials you’ll need to collect.
You’ll need the following:
- 6 Palium Bars
- 10 Ogopuu Skin
- 1 Enchanting Runestone
To get the Enchanting Runestone, you’ll need to purchase it from Tamala’s shop. It will cost you 600 Infected Essence.
Once you have all the items, return to Elouisa for a chat. Use one of the crafting stations at the Elderwood Central Station to make the Brighteye Amulet.

If this is your first relic you’ll be prompted to check your inventory. It works a bit differently than the other equipment slots in the main menu.
You’ll need to click the relic slot, then you’ll see a pop-up selection menu showing all the possible relics you can equip. Click the relic you want to equip, and you’re all set.
Chat with Elouisa once you have it equipped. This will complete the quest.
