Many ruins in Palia have been explored now that you’ve been able to enter them with Jina’s help. The Order has found out about the new discoveries, but due to the magical nature of the ruins, they want to ensure everyone is safe.
Subira has been keeping an eye on the Temple of the Waves by putting sensors in it which alert her if someone enters or exits the temple. She wants your help to investigate what appears to be an intruder.
Prerequisites For The ‘Troubled Waters’
You may get the ‘Troubled Waters’ quest before completing the following quests, but you’ll want to finish these quests first:
Complete ‘Vault Of The Waves’ quest.
Complete ‘Fit For A Watcher’ quest.
Complete ‘Strange Things Afoot‘ quest.
You can check the status of the quest any time by visiting the ‘Quests’ section of the main menu.
Speak To Subira In The Temple Of The Waves
Once you enter the Temple of the Waves and approach Subira, you’ll automatically begin a conversation with her. She’ll explain why she invited you and suggest you team up to explore what might have set her sensors off.
Meet her further inside the Temple of the Waves to continue. Subira would like you to inspect the temple again to see if anything has changed since the last time you visited it.
Inspect the following on the ledge with the statue:
- The headless statue.
- A mysterious rock near Subira.
Travel over to the main temple and inspect the following:
- Inspect books in the bookcase down the right-side hallway on the lower level.
- Inspect books in the main room with the blue water-symbol door.
Open the newly-activated door with the water symbol on it. Subira will already be in the new room. When you approach her another conversation will automatically begin.
You’ll have the opportunity to show her any strange items you found, as well as to ask her about advice on how to get across the water. Subira will give you some hints. If those don’t help, check the hint below or the solution for more direct assistance.
Hint For Getting Across The Water
| You can only proceed in straight directions to other stone islands. Diagonals will be too deep and you’ll have to start over again. |
Solution Walkthrough To Cross The Water
You can walk from the main ramp near Subira to the closest stone “island” straight ahead.
Walk directly to the next stone island on the left. Make a 90-degree turn to the right and walk straight ahead to the island visible underneath, or just past, the stone archway.
Walk to the island on the left. Turn 90-degrees to the right and walk to the nearby island straight ahead. Travel to the island on the right.
You’ll pass a water spout. Turn to the right and travel to the island in the direction where Subira waits, back where you came from.
Next, walk to the longer island to the left. Keep facing the left, and you’ll notice an island that seems to have a raised platform. Travel to that island.
Turn to the left and walk under the archway to the next island. Turn left and head to the last island.
Once you reach the other side, your quest objective will update. You’ll need to investigate the console underneath the water temple symbol for signs of the intruder.
Check the options after chatting with the system core and read the logs. Tell Subira what you found.
You’ll be teleported out of the Temple of the Waves after your discussion. Your next task is to visit the Temple of the Flames, in the quest ‘Into The Fire’.
