Hades has his mind on getting back to Mount Olympus, and you’re just the person to help. You’ll need each other if you want to get things in Storybook Vale back to normal.
Prepare yourself for some cleanup, exploration, and setting things right in the latest Disney Dreamlight Valley expansion. You’ll get to flex those hero muscles again to solve more problems.
Prerequisites For ‘A Moth To A Flame’
In order to get this quest you’ll need a few things first:
Have the Storybook Vale expansion.
Have the Elysian Fields unlocked.
Complete the Mythic Trial in the Elysian Fields.
Unlock The Fiery Plains.
Explore The Fiery Plains
Once you’ve unlocked The Fiery Plains, Hades will automatically give this quest. It doesn’t give much direction, however, except that you should explore the area.
There is a fast-travel well in the area. You can unlock it with 5,000 star coins. You’ll want to do this, and possibly clean up some inkies and cracked pillars.
Unlocking the well should guide you to the next part of the quest. Once you’ve located the area for the next Mythic Trial, you’ll need to take a picture of the wall of flames blocking off the path.
Talk to Hades to show him the picture you took. You’ll then need to consult the Lorekeeper about the unique flames in The Fiery Plains, and the location of some magical water.
Talk To The Lorekeeper
The Lorekeeper remembers a Sacred Spring, but can’t remember its location. You’ll need to collect some Snippets to help restore her memory.
Collect the following:
10 Red Bird Snippets
5 Pink Demon Snippets
2 Blue Demon Snippets
Here’s where you can obtain each Snippet:

Once you’ve obtained all the necessary Snippets, return to The Lorekeeper to unlock and reorder the story called ‘Aurora And The Sacred Spring’. Use the solved puzzle picture to guide you to the location of the Sacred Spring.
Find The Sacred Spring
When you find the proper location, you’ll simply interact with it to get to the Sacred Spring. You’ll see a bright golden pool. Interact with the pool to get a sample of the water.
Return to Hades with the water, and chat with him to get more information. The Sacred Spring water only deals with myth magic, so for Maleficent’s contribution you’ll need some additional ingredients:
5 Crimson Poppies
3 Magma
2 Hippocampi (or Hippocampuses)
Once you’ve collected all the ingredients, visit a crafting table. In the crafting menu, navigate to the ‘Potion & Enchantment‘ section and you should see a ‘Watering Can Potion‘.
Craft the potion, then use it from your inventory to apply it to your Royal Watering Can. Use the Royal Watering Can to remove the Mysterious Flames in the Fiery Plains.
Once you’ve removed the Mysterious Flames blocking the path to the Mythic Trial, use your Royal Net to turn the wheel and open the entrance.
Once you enter the Mythic Trial, it will complete the quest, and you’ll get a new quest called ‘The Promethean Flame‘.
