Now that TOPHAT and Big Challenges are reunited, they are sure to have more ideas for fun things to do on Friendship Island. In fact, they wanted to host competitions to declare an ‘Island Champion’, and now they can do it.
They want your help to spread the word about the idea of an ‘Island Champion’ competition. Help TOPHAT and Big Challenges bring another of their ideas to life.
Prerequisites For The ‘Island Challenges’ Quest
To gain access to the ‘Island Champions’ quest, you’ll need to complete the following:
Complete ‘A Challenging Rescue‘
Complete ‘A Long Awaited Introduction‘
To get this quest, talk to TOPHAT once they’re standing with Big Challenges on the beach. They should have a blue exclamation point above their head.
You can check the status of this quest under the ‘Active Quests’ menu. You’ll find it in the ‘Friendship Quests’ section.
How To Complete The ‘Island Challenges’ Quest
After speaking with TOPHAT, you’ll need to chat with a few more Friendship Island residents. To spread the word about the challenges talk to the following Sanrio characters:
- Pompompurin
- Pekkle
- Wish Me Mell
Once you’ve spoken to all 3 of the characters, return to TOPHAT. When you speak with TOPHAT you’ll then play a game of hide-and-seek.
Hide-and-seek will happen entirely within Seaside Resort, so you won’t need to travel outside the area. You’ll be designated as the first seeker.
You have two response options: “I’m going to crush this!” and “Me? Ah! I’m not ready!”. Regardless of what option you pick, the quest will usher you to next phase of the mini-game.
You’ll need to find the following Sanrio characters, and search areas will be marked with grey circled zones on the map:
Badtz-Maru
Hiding Spot Location
Badtz-Maru is hiding at the ruins entrance nearby. He may be difficult to see since he’s near a rock formation with palm trees.
Keroppi
Hiding Spot Location
Keroppi is hiding behind the billboard to the right of My Melody’s shop.
Pompompurin
Hiding Spot Location
Pompompurin is hiding behind Chococat’s tent near the Resort Gate.
Hello Kitty
Hiding Spot Location
Hello Kitty is on the ledge behind the Hello Kitty Cafe.
You’ll need to talk to each of the characters to officially ‘find’ them. Talk to Big Challenges once you’ve found everyone.
Ten rounds total will occur story-wise but you don’t participate. It just skips to round ten in the dialogue and then the quest will complete.
