Sadness would like her own special place in Disney Dreamlight Valley where she can have peace and quiet, and be alone. Sometimes the Headquarters building is too colorful and bright for her taste.
Help Sadness figure out a nice calm spot in the valley, and get her set up with her own peaceful place. You may also find another mysterious bear-related item in the process.
Prerequisites For ‘The Fortress Of Saditude’ Quest
To get the ‘Fortress Of Saditude’ quest, you’ll need to do the following first:
- Have Sadness at friendship level 4 or higher.
- Progress enough with Joy.
- Unlock the following characters:
- WALL-E
- Donald Duck
- Goofy
- Unlock the following biomes:
- Peaceful Meadow
- Dazzle Beach
You can check the status of the quest by visiting the main menu ‘Quests’ section. The quest will have a Sadness icon.
Talk To Sadness
To begin ‘The Fortress Of Saditude’ quest, you’ll need to talk to Sadness. Scout out locations in the valley, and take pictures using the in-game camera function.
Visit the following locations:
- Near Scrooge McDuck’s Store
- Near Merlin’s library
- Next to your House
You may need to use the camera in selfie mode in order for the picture to register properly for the quest. Sadness will automatically follow you during this task.
When you’ve been able to take the required pictures, the quest will update and tell you to talk to Sadness. Gather the following ingredients:
- 8 Blue Star Lilies
- 8 Blue Marsh Milkweeds
- 3 Aquamarines
- 8 Blue Hydrangeas
- 20 Softwood
- 10 Donald’s Fallen Feathers
Search the Plaza, Peaceful Meadow, and Dazzle Beach for Donald’s Fallen Feathers. Don’t forget to check the small island at Dazzle Beach as well.
When you’ve collected all the ingredients, interact with any Crafting Station in Dreamlight Valley. You’ll find the Cozy Pillow Fort recipe on the ‘Furniture’ tab of the crafting recipes.
Place the Cozy Pillow Fort somewhere in the valley. Use the ‘Furniture’ mode from your inventory, then use the Sadness shortcut icon to easily access the pillow fort.
Talk to Sadness once the Cozy Pillow Fort has been placed. Gather more pillows for the fort using the following methods:
- Purchase Scrooge’s Pillow from the shop.
- Ask WALL-E if he has extra pillows.
- Ask Goofy if he has extra pillows.
Once you’ve talked to the villagers, purchase a pillow from Scrooge’s store catalog. You’ll be able to select the Sadness icon from the ‘Furniture’ section of Scrooge’s store catalog to buy a pillow.
You won’t need many Star Coins for the purchase. It is under 1,000 Star Coins.
After purchasing the pillow, you’ll then be able to try fishing up Goofy’s pillow at Dazzle Beach. You can also break the trash cube in WALL-E’s house to get his extra pillow.
Use the Royal Pickaxe to break the compacted trash cube in WALL-E’s home. It will require a couple hits before you can obtain the pillow.
Fish in orange/gold ripples at Dazzle Beach to get Goofy’s pillow. When you have all the pillows, place them on the Cozy Pillow Fort by interacting with the fort.
Wait for Sadness at the Cozy Pillow Fort, then talk to her when she arrives. Use ‘Furniture’ mode from your inventory to add 5 pieces of blue, purple, white, or black furniture near the fort.
Place the pillow Sadness gives you near the fort as well. Two Sadness shortcuts in ‘Furniture’ mode will allow you to find items that meet the quest requirements, and her personal pillow.
Once you have the Cozy Pillow Fort all set up, take a picture using the in-game camera function when prompted. Pick up the Plush Bear Stuffing that appears, and talk to Sadness.
Meet Sadness at the dock on Dazzle Beach. Talk to Sadness once you arrive at the dock. This will complete the quest.
