In Palia, you never know what you might stumble across during your explorations. If you encountered a mysterious cave while tracking Tamala’s whereabouts in your last quest, you might be stuck in a tricky situation.
You might be stuck momentarily, but luckily humans are resourceful. You’ll need to put your exploration and observation skills to work to escape the cave.
Prerequisites For The ‘Like A Shiprunt’ Quest
To get the ‘Like A Shiprunt’ quest, you’ll need to do the following:
- Complete ‘The Elderwood‘ quest.
- Complete ‘The Nature of Shadows‘ quest.
- Complete the ‘One Step Behind‘ quest.
You’ll be able to check the status of the quest once you have it by navigating to the ‘Quests’ section of the main menu. Once you’re there, you’ll find the quest in the ‘Main Story’ tab, under the ‘Main’ section.
Find Another Way Out Of The Cave
After exploring the mysterious cave, you’ll notice a sort of fishing net hanging against one wall. Climb that to get to a small ledge.
There will be a door resembling one of the familiar temple doors. You’ll be able to interact with the door to exit the cave.
Unfortunately, it’s not as easy as simply leaving the cave. You’ll find yourself in another room, and blocked in by essence vines.
Use your watering can to fill the ancient water pedestal, then use your axe to chop down the vines. Once you can travel further into the room, you can use your hoe on disturbed ground wherever you see dirt piles.
Dig up the dirt piles until you find a key. Use the key on the trap door in the floor near the piles of boxes.
You’ll see a boy trapped by the corrupted vines in the lower level of the new area. There’s a pedestal nearby. Fill it with your watering can and then chop both sets of essence vines, or just the ones on the left.
You can then make your way to the lower level where the young boy is trapped. Take the path on the left to get to the boy. There’s an opening on the left side of the path.
You’ll need to climb up into the opening. Use the pedestal to remove a couple more essence vines. Take the path with the downward slope.
Next, you’ll arrive at a spot with another pedestal and 2 more sets of vines. Remove the vines and take the path on the right, which should be another downward slope.
Follow the path until you come to another small room with a pedestal. Remove the essence vines.
Maze Walkthrough Answer
Take the path to the left in the maze, remove the vines. There’s a pedestal blocked by vines. Remove those to make progress through the maze easier.
There is a large wall of essence vines. If you aren’t able to remove them, there should be enough room to walk around the vines.
You’ll have one last set of vines to chop, then you’ll arrive in the room with the trapped boy.
There will be a pedestal in the room which you can use to free him from the vines. Free the boy, then chat with him to see if he’s okay.
You’ll be transported out of the room. Talk to Subira to complete the quest. You’ll automatically receive the next quest called ‘Something Wicked’.
