One of the fun features of Hello Kitty Island Adventure is that each character has quests for you to complete. It’s a nice way to keep you engaged with the game, and to stave off boredom.
You can usually do these quests at your own pace, perhaps on a day that you’re not really sure what you want to do in the game. Quests help give you a sense of purpose, which can be relaxing when you don’t want to have to decide or plan a play agenda.
Prerequisites For The Ice Cream Social Quest
- You must have already found Pompompurin
- You must reach friendship level 7 with Pompompurin
- Must have acquired flippers
- Might need recycling plant unlocked
- Must have the following areas accessible:
- Gemstone Mountain
- Mount Hothead
- Spooky Swamp
- Seaside Resort / Cozy Islands
- Rainbow Reef (Underwater)
Talk To Pompompurin
Pompompurin will have a blue exclamation point above his head whenever he has a quest for you. Chat with him to begin the Ice Cream Social questline.
He’ll explain that Chococat suggested that Pompompurin do some advertising to help his ice cream business succeed. Tuxedosam has agreed to print out some advertising flyers, but is in need of more dye.
Deliver Yellow Dye
Tuxedosam needs 1 Yellow Dye Pouch. You’ll most likely already have this in your inventory. If you’re out of Yellow Dye Pouches, you can get some by using the Recycling Plant to recycle bananas and you’ll get some Yellow Dye Pouches. Recycle at least 8 bananas to ensure you get a reward.
To deliver the Yellow Dye Pouch to Tuxedosam, you’ll need to use the gift option and make sure the proper dye pouch is selected for gifting.
Additionally, there may be a detail that Pompompurin left out when he had you make the delivery. Tuxedosam is expecting a special ice cream treat in exchange for printing the flyers.
That’s right, you’re not getting those flyers until he has an ice cream treat first. He also has a very specific request: banana ice cream.
If you don’t have one in your inventory, you should already have unlocked the ice cream machine at Pompompurin’s boat. You’ll be able to make some banana ice cream there.
Once you deliver the tasty treat, Tuxedosam will happily give you the advertisement flyers and request that you deliver them to Pompompurin.
Post Ice Cream Social Flyers on Billboards
You may have already noticed the billboards. You can interact with them using the magnifying glass when you’re close enough. They’ll look a bit like a log stack or wooden base laying on the ground.
Chococat has advised Pompompurin of the best places for the flyers to go, so you’ll see little Ice Cream Social poster locations on the map. If you have the guide turned on, you’ll also be able to follow the little yellow sparkle guide. Each billboard will have a blue exclamation point in addition to being marked on the map.
There are 10 Ice Cream Social posters to display:
There are a couple to place in the Gemstone Mountain area. One is near house number 4, to the left.
Another flyer can be posted at the foot of the ramp leading up to the Soda Machine. Both of these Gemstone Mountain locations can be quickly reached by using the Gemstone Town fast travel point.
It might be best to head over to Mount Hothead next. There’s an Ice Cream Social billboard location at the Tophat arch to the right of cabin 1.
The next location is also in Mount Hothead. You’ll find the quest billboard location to the right of cabin 3.
You don’t have to do these billboards in order, but it’s pretty easy to head to Spooky Swamp next to post more Ice Cream Social flyers. There’s a quest billboard location just outside and to the left of the Nature Preserve, and the nearby fast travel point makes this very easy.
The next Spooky Swamp Ice Cream Social billboard location takes a little more traveling to reach. You’ll want to take the rock climbing path just outside and to the right of the maze. The billboard location is about halfway between cabins 3 and 4.
The next area is Seaside Resort. You can use the Resort Plaza fast travel point, and then head to Pochacco’s building. There’s an Ice Cream Social quest billboard in front of the building.
You’ll need to head in the direction of the Cozy Islands for the next billboard location. This one is more difficult to see because a palm tree partially obscures the location. It’s about halfway between cabin 7 and cabin 8.
You’re almost done! There are only two more locations, but oddly enough they’re both underwater. Head to the Comedy Club fast travel point. Outside the walled courtyard of the Comedy Club, you’ll find an Ice Cream Social quest billboard.
The last Ice Cream Social quest billboard is right outside the entrance to the Sunken Ship. You can take the fast travel point to get there quickly and place the poster.
Return to Pompompurin
You’ve finally displayed all the posters and it’s time to tell Pompompurin you’ve been successful. As a nice surprise, you get a tasty treat as a reward.
Hopefully all that hard work pays off and Pompompurin’s ice cream shop will thrive, with more fun to serve up as you build up your friendship.
