Hello Kitty Island Adventure is full of places to explore and adventures to have. Kuromi needs some help creating the spookiest of potions in this quest.
Potion-making comes with some surprises though, so be prepared to get ingredients. You’ll need to go with the flow to keep up with Kuromi on this potion adventure.
Prerequisites For The ‘Potion Problems’ Quest

To get the ‘Potion Problems’ quest, you’ll need to do the following:
- Have the Wheatflour Wonderland DLC.
- Have Kuromi at friendship level 8 or higher.
- Complete the ‘Potion Hunt‘ quest.
- Have access to Kuromi’s cauldron, or have one of your own.
You’ll be able to check the status of this quest any time by visiting the main menu ‘Quests’ section. Once you’re there, you’ll see a new section under ‘Active Quests’ called ‘Wheatflour Wonderland‘.
Talk To Kuromi

To get started with the ‘Potion Problems’ quest, you’ll need to talk to Kuromi. She can usually be found in the Spooky Swamp or occasionally on the beach at the Resort Plaza area.
Kuromi needs more of your help to mix up a new potion. She wants to embrace her inner goth and summon darkness and fog.
She’ll need your help gathering the following items:
- 5 Glowberries
- 35 Mushrooms
Kuromi will be waiting for you to deliver the items near the fountain in Spooky Swamp. Use the gift function to hand over the items, then follow her back to the potion hut.
Once you get back to the potion hut, talk to Kuromi for the next steps. Watch her perform the spell.
It seems there may be some ingredients lacking, and Kuromi’s desired spooky potion needs something extra. Gather the following ingredients to help:
- 5 Pumpkins
- 5 Spinips
This time she should remain in the potion hut and you can use the gift function again to deliver the necessary items. The results appear to be the same, even with the additional ingredients.
You’ll encounter My Melody, who is visiting Kuromi at the potion hut. My Melody offers to help (because of course she does), but she needs a blank book for taking notes.
Head to a crafting bench and craft a blank book. The quest will keep showing that you need to craft a blank book for My Melody, but you may be able to use the gift function to deliver one if you have one in your inventory.
Even if you craft a new blank book, the quest objective doesn’t update. You can still gift her the blank book. Kuromi will try the potion again, and then My Melody makes an executive decision.
Head to the Hello Kitty Café for a break and some Pumpkin Pie. The quest marker on the map will look like a sparkly potion bottle.
Talk to Hello Kitty when you get to the café. Make 4 slices of Pumpkin Pie so Hello Kitty can finish up her inventory count.
You’ll need the following:
- 4 Pumpkins
- 4 Flour
You’ll need to cook fresh Pumpkin Pie, even if you already have some in your inventory. Talk to Hello Kitty when you’re done baking.
Kuromi’s cute potion suddenly goes haywire in the Hello Kitty Café. A new door in the café will appear and Kuromi dashes through.
You’ll need to follow to find Kuromi and make sure she’s okay. Talk to Kuromi when you find her. After the discussion interaction the quest will complete.
You’ll now be in Wheatflour Wonderland, and will have met a new friend, Cogimyun. You’ll be able to give Cogimyun gifts like the other main characters on Friendship Island.
