There are so many places to explore in Hello Kitty Island Adventure. City Town is a vibrant area with a fun new friend, Usahana.
Meet up with Usahana to find out what she’s been thinking about lately. She is looking forward to seeing other parts of Friendship Island, and it may just inspire her to create something new for you.
Prerequisites For ‘A Whole New Menu’ Quest
Before you can obtain this quest, you’ll need to do a few things:
Complete ‘Ship Shape’ main story quest.
Have access to City Town area.
Have Usahana at friendship level 3 or above.
Talk To Usahana
You can take the special ship at the docks near Badtz-Maru to get to City Town, or you can use fast-travel waypoints. If you have the City Center waypoint unlocked, that’s the closest one to use.
Once you arrive in City Town, Usahana should be standing near the main area right after the docks. She should be near Rainbow Tower.
Talk to her to begin the quest. She’s excited to venture to Friendship Island while you act as tour guide.
Usahana will ask you to take her to Friendship Island, but she’ll arrive there before you so don’t worry about finding her when she runs off in City Town. You can just sail or fast-travel back to Friendship Island.
Head to the Resort Plaza and talk to Hello Kitty. Head to the Hello Kitty Café and talk to Hello Kitty again.
You’ll need to bake some goodies for Usahana to try. Make the following:
- 1 Mama’s Apple Pie
- 1 Strawberry Shortcake
- 1 Pineapple Stackcake
You’ll need to have the following ingredients:
- 3 Flour
- 1 Apple
- 1 Strawberry
- 1 Pineapple
| Even if you already have the desserts in your inventory, you will still need to bake each of the desserts to progress the quest. |
Use the gift function to give Usahana all 3 treats that you baked. Next meet with Chococat.
Talk To Chococat
You should be able to find Chococat at their tent as long as you don’t have any quests in-progress besides this one. Talk to Chococat once you arrive.
You’ll need to craft some supplies for Chococat:
- 10 Mechanisms
- 10 Sparks
If you already have these on hand, you can use the gift function to give them to Chococat right away.
To craft the items, you’ll need a total of:
- 30 Gizmos
- 30 Light Stone
Once you give Chococat the supplies they need, Usahana will meet you back at City Town to share an idea. They’ll be near the City Center fast-travel waypoint.
Talk to Usahana to find out about their idea. Now, there’s only one problem. The key is missing. You’ll have the option to select “…I think I already have it!” if you think you’ve found it.
If not, you’ll also have options to ask Usahana where they last saw the key. There are no map markers to help you locate the key.
Where to find the missing key. (spoilers)
If you travel to the right side of the Rainbow Tower you’ll eventually see a set of grey pipes against the building’s wall.
Climb up the pipes to reach a rooftop. An additional set of pipes will allow you to climb up to an even higher rooftop. You’ll find the key lying on a platform on the second rooftop.
Collect the key and return to Usahana. Use the gift function to give it to her.

You’ll enter the café and discuss its condition with Usahana. She’s certain you’re the right person to open the café. After the discussion you’ll receive a recipe from Usahana for making rice flour.
Interact with the Chef’s Station nearby. It’ll be marked with a blue exclamation point. Using the recipe, craft rice flour 2 times.
Talk to Usahana when you’ve finished crafting. You’ll receive a mochi recipe from Usahana. Test out the mochi recipe at the Chef’s Station.
You’ll need 1 rice flour, and 1 additional ingredient. The results you receive will depend upon what you use for the additional ingredient.
Use the gift function to give the mochi you made to Usahana. You’ll receive an additional 7 rice to use at the Chef’s Station when the quest completes.
